Stripe Radar: Stripe launched a service to monitor credit card frauds and help online businesses take online payment in safe and secure way.
You can use Stripe Radar to help block some fraud automatically and help automate some of your teams’ anti-fraud workflow.
Radar works on fraud heuristics tuned across Stripe’s customer base out of the box without configuration, but you can potentially get even better results by creating rules specific to the behavior of your legitimate users and/or fraudsters.
If you don’t have any experience in online payments, use Stripe Radar. Set up some basic rules.
Like you can block/ review the following payments for starters (not all will be fraud, can be false positives)
a) :is_anonymous_ip: (customers using vpn’s etc when making a payment)
b) :risk_level: = ‘elevated’ (Stripe also observes customers and sometimes it works)
c) :card_country: != :ip_country: (ip address country is Germany but Card is Australia, can be tricky in EU free roaming)
d) :is_disposable_email: (disposable email address is often used for fraud [also privacy oriented people])
e):charge_attempts_per_card_number_daily: > 2 (tricky one but is useful for review )
